چکیده
Background: Cisplatin has cytotoxic effects through free radical generation. Reports indicate that various members of Pinaceae family may have antioxidant properties. In this study we investigated the cytoprotective needle volatile oil and bark extract Pinus eldarica in Hepatoma G2 (HepG2) cell line. Methods: Using maceration technique, obtained ethanolic eldarica’s (BHAEPE). Folin-ciocalteu reagent was used to determine total phenolic content BHAEPE. The Needle’s Volatile Oil (NVOPE) by Clevenger hydrodistillation method. main components NVOPE were identified Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrophotometry (GC-MS). We DPPH assay investigate activity both Also, MTT performed test protective BHAEPE against cisplatin. Results: demonstrated each gram equivalent 371±6 mg gallic acid. GC-MS germacrene D as component NVOPE. had more capacity compared When incubated solely with cells, neither nor represented cytotoxicity on. Furthermore, mitogenic on higher doses (50, 75 100 μg/ml). However, lower (10, 20 μg/ml) could not protect cells cisplatin’s cytotoxicity, but provided effects. Conclusion: properties did adequately HepG2 cytotoxicity. at high concentrations

Cytotoxicity of Subtoxic AgNP in Human Hepatoma Cell Line (HepG2) after Long-Term Exposure
Background: We aimed at evaluating the toxicity effects of low (subtoxic) concentrations of silver nanoparticles (AgNP, 5-10 nm) in human hepatoblastoma (HepG2) cell line after and during a period of about one month. Methods: XTT and MTT assays were used to draw a dose-response curve IC50 (half maximal inhibitory concentration) value of the AgNP on HepG2 cells was calculated to be 2.75-3.0 mg/l...

Background & Objective: Although Pinus eldarica is considered as a pine with many valuable phytochemical constituents, little is known about the pharmacological effects of its bark extract. Therefore, the present study aimed to evaluate in vivo antioxidant activity and also the possible beneficial effects of the bark extract of P. eldarica on dexamethasone-induced dyslipidemia in rats. Materia...
